Funeral services at St. Luke provide a sacred time to honor and remember the life of a loved one while commending them into God’s eternal care. Rooted in the hope of the resurrection, these services bring comfort and peace through the promises of Scripture: “Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many rooms … I go to prepare a place for you” (John 14:1–3). We are also reminded of the tender assurance of the psalmist, “The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want … even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me” (Psalm 23). Surrounded by the prayers and support of the church community, family and friends are offered space to grieve, to give thanks for a life lived, and to find strength in God’s promise of everlasting life through Jesus Christ.
