Outreach Ministry
“For there will never cease to be poor in the land. Therefore I command you, ‘You shall open wide your hand to your brother, to the needy and to the poor, in your land.’”
Deuteronomy 15:11
This ministry is dedicated to identifying and responding to local needs, coordinating volunteers, allocating funds for outreach initiatives, and fostering trust through consistent, two-way communication.
Loaves Of Love
The Deacon’s Cupboard is a vital outreach initiative that focuses on supporting those most in need within the community. As part of the wider Feeding Ministry, the program collects both monetary contributions and grocery donations from parishioners, friends, and community partners. These resources are then carefully redistributed to families and individuals facing hardship, ensuring that they have access to essential food supplies. Beyond meeting immediate physical needs, the Deacon’s Cupboard also embodies the church’s mission of compassion and service, offering not only nourishment and clothing but also hope and encouragement to those who may be struggling.
Reading Readiness Program
Volunteers have been actively supporting the community primary schools by working alongside teachers to provide extra help for students. A key initiative is the Reading Readiness Program, which focuses on children experiencing learning delays. Through one-on-one and small group sessions, volunteers help build confidence, improve literacy skills, and foster a love for reading, ensuring every child has a stronger foundation for future learning.
We are grateful for the partnership of Shop Smart, Npure Water, and BADMC, who have generously contributed through donations.
Our goal is to provide hot meals and more grocery packages to underprivileged households. We hope to expand volunteer participation and explore additional educational resources for our children.
